AMBIENT LIGHTING BLUSH by Hourglass
Without a shadow of a doubt, the Ambient Lighting Blush by Hourglass are the most expensive ones in my collection. Saying that, the formula is by far my favourite. With a perfect swirling blend of blush pigment and a corresponding complimentary shade of the brand’s coveted Ambient Lighting Powder, they layer like the softest silk onto the skin without disturbing your base products. With a buildable quality, these pricy powders standout as one of my all-time favourite products. My go-to shade is Diffused Heat, which is the most perfect colour for spring and summer.
HOLLYWOOD FLAWLESS FILTER by Charlotte Tilbury
A lot of beauty lovers rave about CT’s Hollywood Flawless Filter, and I’m about to do the same. This versatile base product can be used as a gorgeous glowy primer underneath your foundation, or along the high-points of your face after your foundation has been applied – or both! Whichever way becomes your favourite way to use it, this bottle of glow will not make you look oily, but healthy and dewy. While, as a cream product it will lift coverage from your foundation a little, it won’t break up your base products throughout the day. Trust me when I say, a little goes a long way, and you really don’t need that much to achieve beautiful results. I wear the shade Fair 1.
VEIL TRANSLUCENT SETTING POWDER by Hourglass
Setting powders can either make or break your base. If, like me, your skin has a tendency to look powdery easily, it’s essential you use a setting powder which is very finely milled. For me the Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder provides the perfect blend of getting the job done while allowing my skin to look youthful and radiant, rather than dry, tight and powdery. Of course, you can still overdo it, but I find that the tiniest bit goes a long way and performs beautifully – which is brilliant given its price tag. If you have oily skin, or a particularly oily T-zone, you may want a powder with a little more power – the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder is the most reliable option for this. However, saying this, I have combination skin myself with an oily T-Zone, and I absolutely love the Veil Translucent Powder.
LUMINOUS SILK FOUNDATION by Giorgio Armani
Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation has been my everyday foundation of choice for the past 10 years, and has worked beautifully for me throughout both my teen years and early twenties. Sometimes I’ve had dry skin, other times more oily, and now it’s settled on combination. I’ve had perfectly smooth skin, acne and now texture with a few blemishes. No matter my skin, this foundation has worked without fail, and I’ve always received compliments about my skin when wearing it. It blends with concealers beautifully, and layers with setting powders, bronzers, blushes and highlighters – both powder and cream, with both brushes and sponges – with ease. My favourite way to apply it is with a damp beauty sponge and I mix the shades 3 and 4. It will always be a part of my collection.
