It’s no secret, when it comes to complexion products NARS is the brand everybody loves. With a range of industry awarded foundations and concealers, NARS have claimed the top spot when it comes to iconic formulations that have stood the test of time. While the likes of the Sheer Glow Foundation and the Radiant Creamy Concealer are widely known, loved, and tried and tested, it’s time to turn to another formula that the brand has to offer. With that said, here’s my review of the NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation.

COVERAGE, APPLICATION & FINISH
The Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation is extremely full coverage, and has a fairly thick and creamy consistency that’s luscious and smooth in texture. The formula requires a good shake in the bottle before applying two-to-three pumps onto your face. From my experience, this foundation requires well moisturised skin and a damp beauty sponge. Both of these additions will ease application, thinning the formula out and allowing it to be smooth and easy to blend, as well as not looking thick or drying on the skin. A damp beauty sponge will also allow the foundation to retain as much moisture as possible, aiding the formula in providing you with a radiant finish that most full-coverage foundations don’t provide. I find that my skin always looks fine, healthy and ultra-smooth with the Natural Radiant Foundation, and never looks heavy or cakey.
PERFORMANCE & SKIN-TYPE SUITABILITY
I personally believe that this foundation is catered more for oily skin than it is for dry skin. However, in saying that, if you do have dry skin you will most likely love this foundation if you apply a super hydrating and creamy moisturiser as your base, and if you use a damp beauty sponge.
I have an oily t-zone, and on particularly hot days the formula can break up ever-so-slightly on my chin. I’ve never heard anybody else who has reviewed this foundation make this complaint though. All NARS foundations break up on my chin (some more than others) so it could just be my skin that’s the problem. Other than that, the Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation offers pretty fantastic oil control and looks, as the name suggests, naturally radiant all throughout the day. As full-coverage foundations go, this one is pretty amazing for offering excellent coverage, a beautiful texture on the skin, and an oil-controlled finish that still allows the skin to look radiant and healthy.
SIZE & PACKAGING
Like all NARS packaging, the Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation has the brand’s iconic matte black packaging on the lid. The bottle is glass and a really good size, and is sleek in shape. For £39 I think you get a good amount of product, and while you do need two-to-three pumps, each pump is tiny, so you don’t go through the bottle at a pace. The matte black lid does get quite dirty as time goes on, so just be careful to keep it clean if that’s something that bothers you.
