When we talk about no-makeup makeup, generally the discussion is centred around tinted moisturisers and bb creams. However, there are plenty of us out there who love natural, no-makeup makeup, but also LOVE makeup and want to have a collection of beautiful products. With that being said, let me talk you through some of my favourite complexion and lip products that I believe fall perfectly into the no-makeup makeup category…

HOLLYWOOD FLAWLESS FILTER by Charlotte Tilbury
Whether you use it as a primer underneath your foundation, or as a highlighter on top, the Hollywood Flawless Filter is the perfect product for giving your skin a dewy, glass-skin glow without it looking greasy or breaking up your makeup. My favourite way to use the Hollywood Flawless Filter is on my cheekbones on top of my foundation and concealer to provide a natural but effective highlighter that’s void of any shimmer.
SOFT MATTE COMPLETE CONCEALER by NARS
A killer to no-makeup makeup tends to be that big pimple on your chin. Instead of potentially spending tonnes of time trying to layer a liquid concealer on top of it, try using the potted Soft Matte Complete Concealer instead. Take a tiny bit on a cotton bud and remove the excess on the back of your hand, taking what’s left on the bud and lightly tapping it onto the spot. For me, it’s an instant fix and doesn’t lead to my skin becoming caked up or unevenly covered in makeup.
VEIL TRANSLUCENT SETTING POWDER by Hourglass
Having shimmer, even the smallest amount, in a setting powder sounds daunting, but in the case of the Veil Translucent Setting Powder it’s the key to setting makeup while allowing the skin to look untouched. Thanks to just how finely-milled the formula is, the Veil loose powder blurs the skin and leaves it looks naturally radiant.
MOOD LIGHT LUMINOUS POWDER by Jaclyn Cosmetics
If you’re after a natural looking glowy finishing powder to give your skin a radiant lift, look no further than the Mood Light Luminous Face Powders by Jaclyn Cosmetics. As a loose, finely-milled powder these both blur the skin and give it a beautiful and natural radiance. My go-to shade currently is Brighten Up.
AIRBRUSH BRONZER by Charlotte Tilbury
Bronzers can often accentuate the appearance of texture on the cheeks. The Airbrush Bronzer, however, is pressed extremely firmly, allowing the product to be applied smoothly to the skin without any excess powder latching onto texture. What I particularly love about the formula is how sheer yet buildable it is – and for that reason it’s perfect for no-makeup makeup.
AMBIENT STROBE LIGHTING POWDER by Hourglass
These are the most natural yet effective highlighters I’ve ever used. The effect on the skin is radiance, rather than a high-beam glow, and for that reason it’s a perfect everyday option. You just need the right brush to bring the product to life. Using a more dispersed highlighting brush, these powders can be swept across the cheekbones in layers to provide a gorgeous lit-from-within glow that has an undetectable texture. My go-to shade is Incandescent, and my favourite brush to apply it with is the MAC 137S.
MATTE REVOLUTION LIPSTICKS by Charlotte Tilbury
These lipsticks have the most beautiful soft texture, and lend themselves to be being worn sheerly with ease. Coming in a range of gorgeous neutral shades, you can choose your colour of choice alongside having a formula that looks undetectable on the lips. My favourite no-makeup makeup shades are Pillow Talk, Very Victoria, and Cover Star.
DIOR ADDICT HYDRATING SHINE LIPSTICKS by Dior Beauty
If you’re after a cream lipstick rather than a matte, one of my favourite no-makeup makeup lip products have to be the Dior Addict Hydrating Shine Lipsticks. With a sheeny finish, these leave your lips looking hydrated and feeling moisturised without looking overly glossy. The formula is light and comes in an abundance of shades including 100 Nude Look and 418 Beige Oblique, which are two gorgeous natural colours.
POWER BULLET CREAM GLOW LIPSTICKS by Huda Beauty
If you’re after a cream lipstick that has a little more shine and is ultra-comfortable, then the Power Bullet Cream Glow Lipsticks by Huda Beauty are an incredible option. Being my favourite lipstick formula of all time, they’re one of my daily go-to products. My favourite shade is Hustla, a mid-tone rosy brown nude, and I love to blend a little across my lips to create a subtle hue of colour with a beautiful sheen.
GLOSS BOMB by Fenty Beauty
Lipsticks are brilliant, but sometimes we all prefer the look and feel of a gloss. When it comes to no-makeup makeup, having the pop of a gloss can add a little bit of fun to an otherwise simple look, and the Gloss Bombs by Fenty are by far my favourite. With a range of sheer tinted colours, they’re amazing for one-swipe application and are not sticky or gloopy in any way shape or form. My favourite shade is Sweet Mouth, a pale soft pink.
MAJOR GLOW SOFTENING LIP MASQUE by Patrick Ta
This is by far the best lip balm I have ever used. With a subtle minty feel, this product leaves your lips feeling butter soft, with an ultra-creamy texture that lasts for hours. I never leave the house without applying this product. Unfortunately, currently it only comes in a pot which you have to scoop the product out of – so it’s not a take-it-in-your-handbag kind of product. Instead, I take either one of Fenty’s Gloss Bombs or the Lip Oil by Kylie Skin for my hydration fix when I’m out and about.
‘WHIRL’ LIP PENCIL by MAC Cosmetics
Lip liners are the ultimate no-makeup makeup product. As they’re finer, and generally more long-wearing than lipsticks, they’re incredibly comfortable and last for hours upon hours. Giving precise definition, you can both enhance the size of your lips and give them colour at the same time. My favourite no-makeup makeup lip liner has to be Whirl by MAC Cosmetics. This neutral beige has a cool pink undertone which makes it a brilliant natural-looking product.
‘PILLOW TALK’ LIP CHEAT by Charlotte Tilbury
If you’re after a lip pencil which is more pink than Whirl then Pillow Talk by Charlotte Tilbury is my favourite option. It’s pink without being too pink – it’s subdue, with a nude undertone and isn’t too light or too dark. It’s a staple for any makeup collection. However, if your skin tone is deeper, there is Pillow Talk Medium and Pillow Talk Intense. I use the original shade and in my opinion it’s a must-have product.
